Young Beavers Emerging

Beaver BomberThe Over 18 Beaver squad has had a good start to the season rolling to a 4-2-1 record and in 2nd place in the American Division. The team has also squeezed in games vs the Kewaskum A's and the SWABA tourny where they lost a heart breaker 2 to 1 in the final inning.

So far the pitching has been strong and deep. Alex Rejniak is once again approaching ace status having recently tossed a 14K outing. Matt Burke is harnessing his live arm and Mike Schroeder is back from injury. Tim Bayer and Jarrett Gates, who both started out the season hot on the mound and at the plate are currently hurt, but eyeing a July return. Ben Rejniak coming off a season at MATC is adjusting to the mound with the big boys and expectations of him are high.

At the dish, Jarrett has hit 3 bombs already and his absence is noticeable. The team is so deep however in college level players that the Beavers have been able to make do. A group of Wisconsin Lutheran College ballers has added to the talent level once again. Returning players Justin Barkhurst and Doug Martin are leading at the plate and in the field. Newcomers Tyler Schoen and Brett Youngbeck add considerable top shelf talent.

Among veteran Beavers, Tim Garceau has settled in at lead-off spot and manager Rob Tschimperle anchors the middle of the line-up. Mike Schroeder is having another good year at the plate as are vets Joe Cefalu and John Kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhn. Filling out the roster are Dr. Greg Ketz who is part-time this year due to family considerations and a newcomer from Madison Eric Danihel.

The team has the depth and talent to once again make a run at the championship. Unlike the past two years in the Milwaukee Baseball League which had a one game seven inning Championship game, Rock League Baseball features a 3 game Championship Series of nine inning games. This should play to the Beavers strength on the mound. If the Beavers tighten if up a bit in the field, this team of hard ballin' drinking buddies will be a team to be reckoned with come August.

Founding Beaver, former player and manager, and current sponsor has vowed to go Rick Pitino and get the Beaver logo tattooed on his back should both Beaver teams win their respective Championships. Stay tuned. Tattoo??
